SUMMARY:Sustainable Mobility Forum
DESCRIPTION:Decarbonization\, de-pollution\, sharing of public space\, infrastructure financing\, territorial cohesion\, inflation and scarcity are all factors that tend to disrupt certain local and national public policies. The time has come for innovation and investment. \nIn France\, the 2023 Finance Act\, the Green Fund for local authorities and the Climate and Resilience Act have put mobility at the heart of the debate\, while the European Commission’s Green Deal is also tackling this issue. Incumbent mobility operators\, startups and solution providers are also mobilised to offer concrete and operational solutions (micro-mobility\, shared mobility\, electrification of fleets\, data-based management\, MaaS\, etc.). \nBut many questions still remain open: what tools are available? What innovations should be pushed? What are the major challenges in the short\, medium and long term? \nOn 14th March 2023\, the Sustainable Mobility Forum will address these questions through a day of conferences\, round tables\, interviews\, exchanges and meetings. \n  \nDo not miss it \n  \nSource: HUB Sustainable

SUMMARY:International Conference on MaaS in Tampere\, Finland
DESCRIPTION:Tampere University will host the 3rd International Conference on Mobility as a Service (ICoMaaS) in Tampere\, Finland\, from 29th to 30th November 2022. \nMobility as a Service (MaaS) is a growing technology that provides seamless integration of mobility services through user-friendly platforms. MaaS facilitates integrated travel options via various modes and actors\, including public transport\, car-sharing\, ridesharing\, taxis\, bicycles and micromobility. \nMaaS offers the potential to reduce the reliance on private motor vehicles for travel\, in turn helping to address many modern problems faced by cities throughout the world\, including climate change\, congestion\, pollution\, transport poverty and social equity issues. While it is not novel that travel can be made by combining different modes and services\, MaaS facilitates seamless payments through a dedicated system\, providing higher levels of service\, reduced cost\, and a better user experience. MaaS research is accumulating rapidly. To date\, focus areas have included describing the concept\, identifying stakeholder roles\, feasibility studies for MaaS systems\, case studies from MaaS trials\, and policy implications when developing and operating systems. Beyond MaaS\, there is a range of other emerging applications and digital mobility solutions which can complement MaaS and the broader transportation system. \nVisit the event page for more information. \nRegister through here.

SUMMARY:MaaS Alliance Webinar: Achieving MaaS Success with Incentives
DESCRIPTION:The success of MaaS doesn’t just depend on technology and policy – if the end user doesn’t see the value proposition of this concept\, widespread use of MaaS apps will be hard to achieve. MaaS Alliance is pleased to invite the community to the next Webinar on Achieving MaaS Success with Incentives for users on Wednesday\, 19 OCtober from 13.00 – 14.00 (CET). \nDuring the webinar\, we look at incentives for MaaS to achieve long-term behaviour change: can micro subsidies and other incentives lead to the successful adoption of MaaS? Moderator Sandra Witzel\, CMO and Board Director at SkedGoinvites 4 speakers to discuss current models and case studies across Europe. \nRegister here.

We are looking forward to collaborating strongly with ERTICO-ITS Europe to create a truly memorable European Congress. Our close and effective collaboration between private and public partners will be a key theme that we will be presenting to participants’\, says Jean-Claude Dardelet\, Vice-Président Toulouse Métropole\, Delegate for Europe\, International and Economic Attractiveness. \n Capital of the French department of Haute-Garonne and the Occitanie region\, Toulouse is the fourth-largest city in France with 1\,360\,829 inhabitants within its wider metropolitan area. SUMMARY:User-centric MaaS Webinar on Sustainable mobility: Is car sharing the magic bullet?
DESCRIPTION:The MaaS Alliance is pleased to invite you to its User-Centric MaaS Webinar on Sustainable Mobility\, focusing on Car Sharing. Because let’s be honest\, most people aren’t going to replace all their car trips with public transport or micromobility. Additionally\, it’s unrealistic to think that replacing fuel-driven cars with e-cars 1:1 is going to solve our transport problems. So is car sharing the magic bullet? In this webinar\, we will analyse the role of share cars/car clubs. How can they help replace individual car use and make transport systems sustainable? What are the challenges? The discussion will have a strong user focus: what do people need from the shared system in order to switch\, what can we learn from the latest case studies and relevant research? \nThe webinar\, moderated by Sandra Witzel\, CMO and Board Director at SkedGo\, will take place on Wednesday 30 March from 13:00 – 14:00 CET. Join our panel of experts for a lively discussion! \nSpeakers: \n\nAntonia Roberts\, Deputy Chief Executive at CoMoUK\nAnna Reiffer\, Research Assistant at the Institute for Transport Studies at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology\n\nRegister here.

SUMMARY:MaaS Congress 2021
DESCRIPTION:MaaS has the potential for a modal shift and can thus ensure liveable and accessible cities. But the question is whether those benefits are only achieved by offering a perfectly working app? Humans are creatures of habit. How do you bring about that behavioural change? We will be happy to discuss this question with you on December 7 during the MaaS Congress 2021. It is also possible to participate in this congress online. \nBehavioural change is\, therefore\, central on 7 December. Because governments and MaaS providers hope for large-scale use\, but this still requires some efforts from the same parties. We will try to provide tools for this during the conference. \nHow do you actually change the behaviour of travellers? What are the motives of travellers to use or not to use MaaS? How do you prevent certain target groups from being left out? And how can governments use nudging to push citizens in the desired direction? The second edition of the MaaS Congress is about these questions. \nAccess the programme here. \nRegister here.

SUMMARY:Mind the Data Gap: Why Transport Needs a Gender Dimension
DESCRIPTION:The eye-opening book ‘Invisible Women’ by Caroline Criado Perez put the spotlight on the gender data gap. Its detailed analysis how this gap affects us – and can harm women – all over the world and in all areas of our lives\, made a lasting impact on many of us. Transport is an important part of everyday life and an enabler in many ways: it gets us to our work places and back\, delivers kids to school and enables day-to-day living. \nIn this panel discussion we shine a light on the consequences the gender data gap in transport has on women’s lives\, look at what is being done to address this and come away with concrete steps\, action items\, recommendations and resources. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions and learn from our experts. \nThe session is moderated by Sandra Witzel\, co-founder of Women in Mobility UK and CMO and Board Director at SkedGo. It is hosted by Sarah Wray\, Editor at Cities Today. The session will be recorded and available to view on demand.
