SUMMARY:ITS World Congress: Experience Future Mobility Now
DESCRIPTION:The ITS World Congress in Hamburg\, taking place from 10 – 15 October is the world’s largest and most prominent event focused on smart mobility and the digitalisation of transportation.\nEvery year\, ERTICO organises an ITS regional or World Congress in Europe and is a yearly celebration of smart mobility\,  underlying the importance of Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) and particularly in cities and regions where they are hosted. They are important channels to raise awareness of smart mobility solutions among policymakers\, experts and the general public. They include live sessions where industry experts present the latest developments in ITS\, a showcase of cutting-edge technology and an exhibition space. \nWhy Attend?\nThe ITS World Congress in Hamburg is an opportunity to present products or projects to the international community in the unique surrounding and allow partners from across the sector to test its applicability. The Congress gives you access to all of the sector’s key target groups\, making it the ideal platform for establishing a productive dialogue. \nThe Congresses offers stakeholders and patrons the ultimate platform to meet with industry influencers\, discuss the latest and most seminal topics facing the market\, meet with decision-makers\, get insights on future industrial\, technological advances and the future policies required to support the rapid growth of the sector. \nProgramme available now\nThe Programme is at the very heart of the ITS Congress and consists of the High-Level Programme\, the Technical Programme and other ITS Events. The High-Level Programme\, including an Opening and Closing Ceremony and three Plenaries dedicated to the six Congress topics. They are addressed by major personalities and six Executive sessions that welcome high-level industry executives\, public officials\, and academia from around the world to share their experiences and views on ITS achievement. Forums from the three regions of Asia Pacific\, the Americas and Europe and for the first time this year\, two dedicated Global Forums – one on MaaS and another on freight and logistics are also included\, given Hamburg’s important role as an international port. \nThe Technical Programme results from the Call for Contribution process that took place earlier in the year that has delivered 180 highly focused sessions that promote advances in state of the art and the deployment of ITS. But a number of challenges remain in expanding the potential and applicability of MaaS/MoD. For example\, are there sustainable business cases and governance models that address social and economic impacts while meeting the goals for widely available and accessible user-focussed mobility?
